We are excited to announce that we are now taking applications for a Student Midwife Apprentice.
Our practice is committed to not only excellent care for our clients, and nurturing the next generation of midwives but we want to do so in a way that promotes sustainability, balance, and long-term career satisfaction. We believe that learning flourishes when students are supported, well- rested (as much as that is possible in a career field where sleepless nights are just part of the job), and given the space to grow at a sustainable pace. We are intentionally a small practice with a manageable client load each month.

Some of the details:
We require that you are in an academic program. We are not accepting PEP students at this time. Midwife Rebekah is currently a preceptor with Association of Texas Midwives Midwife Training Program and is in process with Mercy in Action. She is a registered NARM Preceptor. Midwife Matison will be a preceptor later this year (2025).
You must have CPR (for healthcare providers) and NRP certifications before you are able to attend births (so you should either hold the certifications or be in-process of obtaining them).
You must have 24/7 access to a reliable car, cell phone and be prepared to live the on-call lifestyle. You must be reachable by phone 24/7 when on call and able to leave within a short time frame once called to a birth.
You must be within a reasonable distance from our practice, we have locations in Denton, TX and Gainesville, TX.
We are looking for a student that is ready to make a one year to 1.5 year commitment to our practice with the possibility of extending the apprenticeship further (there will be a 90 day trial period).
